E-learning EWC basic training
In the online training course “EWC Basic Training” we will bring you up to speed for your role in the European Works Council. The training course consists of the following building blocks:
- Reason of existence of the EWC: Why has the European Works Council been invented?
- Legal framework of the EWC: In which legal setting does the EWC operate?
- Spot the difference: On the variety of employee representation in the European countries
- Information and Consultation: The core business of the EWC, but what does it mean exactly?
- The EWC in practice: What can you expect from your work in the EWC?
The training course has been developed for EWC members, but is also interesting for HR managers dealing with EWC’s and for employees’ representatives and company leaders who consider the establishment a European Works Council.

In the training course, you will make use of texts, instruction videos and animations. You can test your own progress by making several assignments and at the end of each block by filling in multiple-choice questions. If you have any doubts or questions during your e-learning experience, you can always contact our EWC experts. The e-learning course “EWC Basic Training” is available in English.
When registered to the EWC Basic Training, you will have access to your own secured digital working environment. You will remain access by using your personal login code. After your first login you will have two months to complete the training course at your own pace. We expect that you will need between three and five hours to work through the complete training course. When you have finished the e learning successfully, you will receive a certificate.

E-learning fits with different learning styles
- You can move along the building blocks in the same order as presented in the training course. However, you can also change the order or only pick out the most interesting elements.
- You decide when, where and for how long you work on the online training. You work at your own pace.
- It is easy to repeat parts of the training that you find difficult.
- There is always an EWC expert available at the background.
Practicalities
Once you have enrolled yourself for the EWC Basic Training e-learning course, you will receive a link and a code which gives you access to the secure digital learning environment. The learning environment is easy to use and does not require any specific skills. After your first login, you will have access for three months, in order for you to complete the training course at your own pace.
